If we consider organizations' experts as the most crucial source of organizational knowledge creation, we must find a way to identify and obtain this irreplaceable capital. Organizational experts are distinguished by characteristics such as work experience, professional and managerial authority, and accompaniment in the historical moments of the organization. These people are a valuable reference of your organization's lessons learned, which are easily forgotten upon retirement or any separation from the organization, and the organization deprives itself of a population of them each year. 
Documenting experts' experiences is a structured attempt to identify experts and their best lessons learned and then implement techniques for extracting these knowledge packages and compiling and republishing them. Methodology

MTA, in 2005, started the first project to document the experiences of experts in Iran with an innovative methodology that was a combination of techniques in this field in the world. The project, which began in the petrochemical industry, was the starting point for a process that has involved nearly 500 managers and experts in various Iranian industries.

In 2012, with the help of the District 10 Municipal Education Department of Tehran, the municipal knowledge management system of District 10 was launched. With the cooperation of MTA, the steps of recognition, SWOTAnalysis, identification of municipal knowledge fields, and interviews with experts were performed, and finally, by installing knowledge management software, the District 10 municipal system was set up. Tehran’s District 10 Municipality is the first municipality in the country with this system and actively extracts and shares its employees' knowledge. Development of employees' public participation in organizational processes, development of learning at the employee level, avoidance of duplication, and reduction of costs are part of the results of launching this system.
